Leading global infrastructure company Opus International Consultants (Opus) has appointed Dr Ray Hickey as Principal Asset Manager to lead growth in the transport, buildings and water sectors.
Dr Hickey has over 16 years’ experience in whole of life asset management and structures and has held senior positions working for leading UK infrastructure clients.
He helped to develop the current version of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy toolkit freely issued to all local authorities by the Department of Transport to enable cost efficient life cycle planning and accurate financial reporting.
He has also been instrumental in developing asset management tools for High Speed 2 and Highways England creating effective software to manage asset management challenges.
As a chartered engineer with a doctorate in computational modelling, Dr Hickey is a significant addition to Opus’ ranks says Steve Draper, Opus’ Technical Director for Asset Management, UK.

Dr Hickey will focus on delivering asset management services for Opus clients and creating new opportunities to take the business to its next level of development, particularly in the local authority market. He will work with Opus’ behavioural scientists to ensure that our infrastructure solutions meet the needs of our clients and communities.
